The band students took pictures on 10/15/09 for the composite. These pictures will be made avaiable on the TCPICS WEBSITE. I have been told that you will have to login in order to view the proofs. USERNAME: SPHS PASSWORD: SPARTANS.
Due to absences and other events preventing some pictures to be taken there will be a make up day on DECEMBER 18, 2009 from 9:30am - 3:30pm.

Spread the Word...
The Spirit of South Paulding Band is one of the top 64 Bands in the WSBTV competition. There will be four rounds of voting. The most viewed bands on WSBTV will advance to the next round. The first round ends November 6th at Noon. Show as many people as you can : )

Text voting will be added when we reach the round of 16. Teams can also receive Facebook bonuses. If 100 people from a school join Sports Zone Friday on Facebook and have their school name listed as one of their networks, that team receives an extra 1,000 votes on top of their video total. Each school that creates their own Facebook page to promote this contest and has 100 fans sign up, that school will get another 1,000 votes on top of their video total. Email nelson.hicks@wsbtv.com when you reach the 100 fans threshold.
Voting will end at noon on the last day for each round. Voting for the next round will begin shortly after. If the school wishes to replace the video we are using with their own video, the band director of that school can contact nelson.hicks@wsbtv.com. Please note, it may take up to 5 days once we receive the video to replace it. The voting will not stop in the meantime.
The voting competition will determine the final four bands. Those will be named on Dec. 4. From there, the Braves staff will pick the winner. The winning band will have the opportunity to play in Fan Plaza before an Atlanta Braves game this spring. Booster Club Happenings
* Fruit sale started Monday night and will end on Nov. 9th. Get your order form from the band room.
* Chili Cook Off-- Cooks are needed. Sign-up on charms or on Mr. Slay's door. Each student will be responsible for bringing 1 2 litre and an side TBA closer to the event. 11.19.09. Also all students will be responsible for selling 5 tickets at $5.00 each. $3.00 of each ticket will be credited to the child's account.
*DHB Tryouts are 12.12.09 at SPHS. We need parent volunteers to help with hospitality to feed the judges breakfast and lunch, and to help with parking busses. Start at 7:30am - end at 3:00pm we could use you any portion of that time if you are available. Sign up in the band room.
*UPCOMING EVENTS: 3 games left - the next three Friday nights. All away games. 11.19 is a Dinner Concert (Chili Cook Off), 12.5 is the Dallas Christmas Parade, 12.12 is District Honor Band, and 12.17 is the Winter Holiday Collaboration. Tickets for the Holiday concert will be sold ahead of time at $5.00 each. 12.19 Krispy Kreme Donut Sale at Kroger - 7:30AM until SOLD OUT - usually around 1:00ish
*Still in need of water for the rest of the away games. If you can bring another, pelase do. If you haven't brought any in, we still need it. The water was used this year for the flood day practices, which means our inventory is lower than usual.
*Students earned $8.50/hour for working Paulding Meadows this year! GREAT SUCCESS!
*Thanks for all of your sacrifices, hard work, patience, perserverance, dedication, and love throughout the competitive season. IT PAID OFF BIG! Congratulations to all of the parents who made it possible for the students to be successful. Without your support this would not be possible. THANK YOU!

CONGRATULATIONS!
The Spirit of South Paulding has earned their second Grand Championship of the year! They attended the Golden River Marching Festival hosted by Haralson County High School and took home high honors in all captions. Drum Major, Colorguard, Percussion, and Band received first place for Class AAA; For the Silver Division (Classes A, AA, and AAA) Drum Major placed third, Percussion placed second, Guard placed first, and Band also placed first. In addition to these honors the band scored the highest out of the 23 bands that attended the festival! Congratulations!

Competition Day
Greetings! I wanted to congratulate the band on a great performance this evening at the Hillgrove Game. Many Hillgrove parents as well as the directors approached me to compliment our band on our performance. It was the best one yet! Let's make tomorrow (today's) performance even better.
STUDENTS: Remember to be there by 11:30AM to pick up your uniform. We will let you know when to where from then on.
Parents please head on over to Rockmart High School (990 Cartersville HWY) ) and secure some places on the 50 in front of the judges for our parents to show strong support. The louder the crowd is, the better the kids perform! We cannot do it without you!
I added a map program at the bottom of this page--- enter 990 Cartersville HWY Rockmart GA) for your destination and wherever you will be traveling from and GOOGLE MAPS will pop up for you. I hope you find this a convenient way to find your way to Rockmart tomorrow.
Our performance time is 7:10PM but please be plenty early.
We look forward to a productive day tomorrow full of hard work and delayed gratification. We have all been working a long time for this moment. Let's make it the best!
