Updated Calendar

I hope that everyone is enjoying their break from school. I just wanted to let you know that our calendar on Charms has been updated to include the after school rehearsal schedule for our festival preparation. Just a reminder that these rehearsals are mandatory. A print out of this schedule will be handed to the students on Tuesday upon their arrival from break.

I look forward to your return on Jan. 3rd! Happy New Year!

Added 12/30/10: The Calendar has also been added to the bottom of this homepage for quick and easy access. I hope this helps you to stay up to date.

SCHOOL CLOSED - Thursday Concert Cancelled

Due to potentially hazardous roads, the Paulding County School District has closed schools today. Although the temperature is supposed to warm up throughout today, we do not want to put any students or family members at risk. Tonight's performance is CANCELLED.

We will consolidate nights and only do one performance of the Collaboration of the Arts. Tickets for both Thursday and Friday will be honored on Friday. Seats will be awarded on a first come first served basis so please be early. If you have a ticket for Thursday and you are not able to attend Friday then you will be able to receive a refund. Refunds will be handled through our school's book keeper.

If you have any questions you can reach me via e-mail: ccarr@paulding.k12.ga.us

Exam information should be updated soon on the school's website.

I hope you are staying at home - safe, warm, and dry. I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow.

Good Luck to all the students trying out for district honor band today. I hope you have safe travels to and from, and do your best. I'm proud of you for making this extra commitment and thinking enough of yourself to give it a shot. Remember: it's about the journey, not the destination. Regardless of the outcome, you have improved along the way and our band is better because of it. Take a deep breath and give it your best shot!

Get your plumes!

Our "Wicked" green plumes that we purcahsed for the 2010 Unlimited show are available for purchase. Seniors received a plume as a gift from the band, but the plumes are available for all members to purchase. The holiday price is $15.00, which is good until the end of next week. When we return from the break, the plumes will still be on sale but the price will increase to $20.00. Plumes will be sold on a first come, first served basis.

Volunteers Needed

At the conclusion of the concert we serve hot chocolate, coffee, and desserts. We need help with dessert donations, and help serving. If you can help serve please send me an email. Since servers will be working to set up during a short portion of the performance, a complimentary ticket will be provided for helping out.

Congratulations

CHILDREN'S HEALTHCARE OF ATLANTA PARADE
I just want to congratulate our students on a successful parade. The students looked and sounded great. I would like to thank Sandie Thomas and our chaperones for their help in making the trip run smoothly. I would also like the thank Tony Rhodes for creating and donating a banner for us for the parade, and William Thomas and David Palmer for creating and donating the structure that we used to present the banner at the parade.

DISTICT HONOR BAND - SATURDAY - AT PEPPERELL HS
This weekend we have District Honor Band at Pepperell HS in Lindale (Rome),GA. Directions to Pepperell can be found in the bandroom or you can map it to 3 Dragon Drive, Lindale, GA. Our band has been given a 1:00pm audition time. Instead of giving the students individual times, an audition time was given to a group of schools. My advice is for you to arrive between 12:30 and 12:45. Spend about 15-20 mintues warming up and then go audition. Do not spend too much time warming up because you do not want to be tired when you audition. Do not spend too much time in the warm-up area so that other students do not get in your head. This audition is about you and what you have prepared not about what other students are doing. Take a deep breath and do your best :) GOOD LUCK!

GET YOUR TICKETS NOW!
Tickets for the Collaboration of the Arts go on sell today. Tickets are $5.00 each and there are 500 tickets being sold to each night. This sounds like a lot of tickets, but they go fast.
