Graduation - TOMORROW EVENING

Just a reminder that tomorrow evening is graduation at South Paulding High School.  Congratulations to all of our seniors who have met the requirements for graduation and are on to bigger and better things.  As sad as we are to say goodbye for now, we are honored that you left behind a part of you to live as a legacy and example for the seniors to follow; we are proud of the accomplishments you have completed and look forward to hearing of the many accomplishments that are still ahead in your journey.

As an honor to our seniors, school, parents, and community we perform at graduation.  This has been announced in class, but with the new schedule not all classes meet on a regular basis.  Please keep in mind that our report time for graduation is 6:15pm on the field for graduation.  Traffic and parking are always challenging so please plan accordingly. This is a required performance as stated in our handbook and serves as our final exam grade.  I look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow evening as we serve our community and honor the seniors with the playing of the National Anthem and the Processional.

Message from the County - One Call Now

May 2011

To Parents of all Paulding County School District Students:

For the past several years, the school distrcit has utilized a parent phone notification service called Ntec.  That company has been purchased by One Call Now.  Effective Friday, May 13th, the notification calls that you receive from the school district will be from One Call Now.

Calls you receive from either the school of the district will be lited on the caller-ID as: 877-698-3261.  If you have this number listed in your cell phone contacts, you may want to identify it as One Call Now

For the remainder of this school year we will be utilizing the voice and phone features of One Call Now.  With the start of the 2011-2012 school term, we will begin implementing other features that One Call Now offers including e-mail, SMS text messageing options, polling questions, and web-site links.

When you receive a call from One Call Now, you should hear a 1-2 second tone followed by a general greeting (example: Please hold for an important message from the Paulding County School Distrcit).  After the message has played you can press the # button to repeat the message.

If you receive a message and need to listen to it again at a later time or you did not catch the entire message, you can call into the One Call Now system and listen to the most recent messages sent to your phone.  Simply call the toll free number 877-698-3261 and the system will recognize the number you are calling from and, if it is on the list, will play the most recent message.  If the number you are callin gfrom is not currently on the list, it will ask you to input your primary 10-digit phone number.

As with the previous system, the school district will use One Call Now to inform parents of school closings, early release, an other important district-wide news.  Individual school will send informational messages to parents regarding upcoming events and activities.

The Paulding County School District has always been committed to the safety and security of our students.  The One Call Now notification system is a valuable and welcome addition to our overall school safety program.

Thank you.

Meeting Monday Night

Just a friendly reminder that we have a critical booster meeting Monday evening at 7:00PM in the band room.  A $75.00 commitment fee is due to secure your spot in next year's half-time performance.  We will discuss the handbook, distribute, and collect pertinent forms required for participation.  Next year is quickly approaching.  It is going to be another AWESOME year!

Coke fundraiser is currently going on.  There are order forms in the band room.  This was handed out at the last booster meeting, but if you did not get paperwork and would like to sell cokes then please see Mr. Carr in the bandroom.  Order forms and money is due on Monday evening.

Also, Mr. Carr passed out magazine "reach-out" mailers in class.  Please fill out the booklet with your address and 7 family/friend addresses and return to Mr. Carr by Monday.  We will hold a drawing for a few prizes with the returned booklets.  This is a way for the band to make money with new or renewed magazine subscriptions.  The company provides the books and postage.  All we have to do is provide referrals and they donate the profits.  Thank you in advance for your participation.

I look forward to seeing you Monday night!

SIDE NOTE: We created a new facebook page to shorten the name to help when added to www.spiritofsouthpaulding.org - our old page will no longer be active at the end of this week.  If you would like to continue to follow the Spirit of South Paulding, please like this page. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience.
