Updates: Disney Reminder and Festival Itineraries

Just a reminder that the money for the Disney trip was due on the Wednesday before the Winter Break. If you still have a balance please pay in full tonight at the booster meeting. The booster club must pay the remaining balance, so we are at the point where you will not be able to attend the trip if the balance is not paid in full. Thank you for your understanding and attention to this matter.



FESTIVAL INFO:

Festival is a concert that is open to the public. We will be performing for state adjudicators and it always helps the students perform their best when they know that their family is in the audience. If you can attend the concerts at North Paulding High School, we would appreciate it if you could be there! Our bands perform at these times at North Paulding High School:
Symphonic Band - Wednesday, March 7 at 1:45PM
Wind Ensemble - Wednesday, March 7 at 6:25PM
Concert Band - Thursday, March 8 at 11:00AM

Itineraries:

Wednesday March 7 - SYMPHONIC BAND
Second Period - Report to the Band Room
10:30AM - Depart SPHS
11:00AM - Eat Lunch at Stevie B's ($5.00 plus tax)
11:45AM - Depart lunch for NPHS
12:30PM - Arrive at NPHS for warm-up
1:45PM - Performance, sight-reading to following
2:45PM - Depart NPHS for SPHS
3:45PM - Arrive back at SPHS (Please make arrangements to pick up your child by 4:00PM - If you need to pick them up from NPHS please let me know in advance and I will have a form for you to fill out before depart.)

Wednesday March, 7 - WIND ENSEMBLE

Be sure to bring everything that you need for festival to school with you. You will not have time afterschool to get your concert attire or forgotten items.
3:25PM - School let's out, report to the band room and double check that you have everything. Be in the band room by 3:45pm.
4:00PM - Depart for NPHS
5:00PM - Arrive at NPHS
6:25PM - Perform, sight-reading to follow
7:25PM - Depart NPHS
8:00PM - Arrive at Stevie B's ($5.00 plus tax)
9:00PM - Depart Stevie B's
9:15PM - Arrive back at SPHS (Please make arrangements to pick-up your child by 9:30PM. If you need to take them home from NPHS or Stevie B's please let me know in advance and I will have a form for you to fill out before you depart.)

Thursday, March 8 - Concert Band
1st Period - Report to the Band Room
9:00AM - Depart for NPHS
10:00AM - Warm-up
11:00AM - Perform, sight-reading to follow
12:00PM - Depart NPHS
12:30PM - Lunch at Stevie B's ($5.00 plus tax)
1:30PM - Depart for SPHS
2:00PM - Arrive back at SPHS - unload
2:30PM - Report to 7th Period


All three ensembles are performing quality literature and will give great performances. If you can please be there to support your children and join us at Stevie B's! Symphonic Band will have to attend before their performance because of logistics, but will be celebrating our hardwork. Your children continue to give a true effort in preparing this music. They have a lot to be proud of and continue to rise to new levels! Let's celebrate together.

Pre-Festival at Hiram High School

Monday, February 13 is our Pre-festival concert at Hiram HS.

We will not be taking busses to Hiram HS, be sure to make arrangements for transportation. Concert Band reports at 5:00PM. We will meet right outside of the auditorium. Symphonic Band is to report by 6:30. Please be early and report to the Concert Band performance that starts at 6:30PM. Follow us out of the auditorium and we will gather outside before heading to the warm-up room as a group. Wind Ensemble is to report by 8:00PM. Plase be early and report to the Symphonic Band performance that starts at 8:00PM. Follow us out of the auditorium and we will gather outside before heading to the warm-up room as a group.

*Reminder about performance dress* All black attire is to be worn to the performance. This is a very classy event. The less skin showing the better. Ladies, if you were unable to find a long black dress please wear plain black leggins/hose, with closed toe shoes or black pants. The idea is to not draw attention to yourself and allow the music to speak for itself. Men, please do not try to spark things up by wearing a splash of color as a tie. Black shirt, black, pants, black socks, black closed toe shoes. If you would like to wear a tie, please wear a black tie. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
