Good Morning,
We have quite a bit going on with the band the next few
days. Here is everything you need to
know:
1 – Our annual SPHS Band Costume Contest is tomorrow during
practice. We have shared with students
that they must be able to practice in whatever they are wearing to
practice. We have also shared with them
that they may NOT wear their costumes to school, only to band practice. PARENTS – if you are participating in the
Trunk or Treat for the band after practice, please plan to be here and be set
up by 6:30 in the parking lot in the bus loop.
Many have reached out to ask – we have 130 in the band this year. I’ve also been asked to share with you that
this event is only for members of the band (younger siblings are OK to
participate as well.) For those who are planning to pick their kids up afterwords... we anticipate everything being finished around 7:15 PM.
2 – Friday we travel to Langston Hughes. Langston Hughes reached out yesterday and let
us know that, due to their senior night, neither band will perform at
halftime. We plan to only perform in the
stands on Friday. We will leave SPHS at
5:30 and should be back close to 11:30.
3 - This week is our last week of a "regular" practice schedule. Next week we will only practice on Thursday (11/2) from 3:45 - 5:30.

Students Arrive @ SPHS - 1:00 PM
Practice Ends - Students Eat / Change / Load Busses - 3:45 PM
Depart SPHS - 5:15 PM
Arrive @ Carrollton HS - 6:15 PM
Warmup - 7:25 PM
Perform - 8:20 PM
Awards - 10:00 PM
Depart Carrollton HS - 11:00 PM
Arrive @ SPHS - 11:45 PM
The band will feed our students an early dinner on for this event, but they may
want to bring money to eat in the concession stand for a late snack as well.
As always, we would LOVE for you to come out to Carrollton HS to support
