We are looking forward to the Thanksgiving break and to travelling to California with the band in just a few days! We want to take this opportunity to remind all of you that we will be participating in TWO Christmas Parades this year. That is right - it is time for the Dallas Christmas Parade! Here is everything you need to know for the Parade on Saturday, December 2nd:
Students will meet in the parking lot of the PCSD Transportation Department the morning of the parade. This is different from what we have done in past years. Here is the address for our Transportation Department: 522 Hardee St #4715, Dallas, GA 30132
We are asking that students in the SPHS band arrive that morning between 10:45 AM and 11 AM. We will send home a special drop off pass that will get you past the road closure for those students who are being dropped off that morning.
For students who are driving themselves, they will be required to park at Oasis Family Life Church and then we will walk them together to the Transportation Department at 11 AM. Here's the address for Oasis Family Life Church: 210 Paulding Ln, Dallas, GA 30132.
The band will transport sousaphones, flags, percussion instruments, and marching band uniforms to the parade. Students will wear their marching band uniforms and Santa Hats. The parade itself starts at 1:00 PM.
We recommend you drop your students off with us, park somewhere in Downtown Dallas, and watch the parade somewhere towards the end of the parade so when students are done they do not have to walk all the way back to the beginning of the parade.
***We have had problems in the past with students forgetting to bring their marching band shoes.*** Please check with your child TODAY to make sure they have their shoes and let us know if there is anything we can do to help.
