Thank you to all of our parents who volunteered this weekend to accompany the students to GSU. I think everyone had a good time! I know that GSU enjoyed getting to know our band students! We were the only ones willing to have fun in the stands. Special thanks to Mr. Jeff Dillard for pulling the trailer downtown for us.
This week we have a few things going on:
Monday - Wind Ensemble rehearsal for UGA from 3:45pm - 6:00pm
Tuesday - No School for Election Day
Wednesday - Jazz Band at 7:45am
Thursday - No Marching Band Practice - Students are invited to stay until 5:00pm to record a YouTube video with Casey Cooper to promote our the Bert Show Battle of the Bands and the Clorox Grant.
Friday - Final Away Game vs. Lithia Springs. Report time 5:30PM in UNIFORM. Be Early!
Saturday - Bands Alive! at South Paulding Middle School. Report at 5:00PM to the South Paulding Middle School Cafeteria. We will march into the Gym for the performance. Approximate time of performance is 6:00PM, but it might be earlier. The concert starts at 4:00PM for the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade bands. We perform after the middle school bands.
Next week is also a busy week for us:
Monday - Wind Ensemble rehearsal for UGA from 3:45pm-6:00pm; Booster Meeting at 7:00pm; and Cheeseburger Bobby's Night
Tuesday - Dress Rehearsal for the Dinner Concert - Full Marching Band (Colorguard and Percussion Included) from 3:45-4:30; Symphonic Band 4:45-5:30; and Concert Band 5:45-6:30.
Wednesday - Jazz Band at 7:45am
Thursday - Dinner Concert - Students report at 5:30 - students helping to set up should stay afterschool. We need your help. Please visit this website to volunteer.
Friday - Enjoy next week OFF! I hope that you have a relaxing Thanksgiving Break filled with family : )
When we return on November 26th we will host auditions for chair/band placement and prepare for the Atlanta Christmas Parade!
Thank you for making this year such a success! I know that we are busy, but at least we are busy with some really great people. Thank you for all that you do! These times of your life might seem to fly by, but I hope that they will be some of your fondest memories.
