This weekend we had 25 students (Tyler Boggs, Cheyanne Cowart, Shannon Crawford, Chandler Dickerson, McQuade Dillard, Natalie Forte, Lauren Graham, Claudia Hess, Justin Hites, Garrett Johnson, RaSheed Lemon, Jonas Lutz, Johnathan McGhee, Amber Mealer, Chris Morris, Olivia Morris, Mary-Kathryn Newton, Caroline Phelps, Alante Powell, Taylor Prince, Tony Smith, Blake Soverns, Allison Webb, Katie Webb, and Kyle Willoughby) with the opportunity to represent our school at the Georgia Music Educator's Association All-State Band final audition at Houston County High School in Warner Robins, Georgia. I am proud of the commitment that they made to personal excellence and the courage that they displayed by attending the audition knowing that they were competing against thousands of students from across the state for the opportunity to participate in All-State. These students along with our students who auditioned for district honor band are leading our band program to new heights. Thank you for being leaders and pushing your limits.
It is with great enthusiam that I report that we set a school record this year! This is the first year that we have had 6 students make it to All-State!
