Below is a message from David Vandewalker, Music Director, about the upcoming auditions for the Metropolitan Atlanta Youth Wind Ensemble. They provide an excellent opportunity for students to participate in an extra-curricular performing organization, which rehearses at Georgia State University and performs in their beautiful Rialto Center for the Performing Arts. The ensemble is comprised of an advanced group of talented musicians throughout the Metro Atlanta area, so this would be a great opportunity to meet other students who also excel musically. I highly recommend this opportunity to our students as another outlet to continue to grow.
We would love to have your students participate in the 2013-2014 season of the Metropolitan Atlanta Youth Wind Ensemble. Last year's ensemble performed a variety of great literature ranging from band standards including works by Giannini, Grainger, Creston, and Turina as well as some of the newest compositions for wind band including a residency with Steven Bryant.
