Final Hawaii Information,
Hi Everyone! We are
VERY close to departing for Hawaii and wanted to remind you of a few things
before we leave. First, I would
encourage all of you to review the information from our final trip meeting one more
time. You can find that information
here:
Please help your children by making sure that they have
packed the necessary items and check to make sure they have not packed any
unnecessary items. Items of considerable
importance include (but are not limited to) Uniforms, Marching Band Shoes,
Black Socks, Flip-Books for music, phone chargers, sunscreen, hats, and
deodorant.
For our performance at Pearl Harbor, anyone with long hair
will need to make sure that their hair does not touch their collar of their uniform
(this is the same procedure as any other time we wear our uniforms). Please make sure you have what you need to
make sure this happens.
All students who are 18 years of age or older will need to
provide photo identification at the airport.
We are flying out of the SOUTH terminal of the Atlanta Airport.
Please have a conversation with your child about proper airport
etiquette. Important things to review: never
leave luggage unsupervised, remain calm, cool, and collected at all times, etc.
We (the school) will transport all of our OVERSIZED instruments to the
airport. This includes: Bass Clarinets,
Tenor Saxophones, Euphoniums, Trombones, Sousaphones, all Percussion
Instruments, and all Flags for the Color Guard.
These students are responsible for making sure their instruments are
loaded on the trailer during the school day tomorrow (Friday the 15th.)
Students who do not play an oversized instrument must
transport that instrument to the airport themselves. This includes: Flutes, Clarinets, Alto Saxophones,
Trumpets, and Mellophones. These
instruments will be “carried on” to the plane.
The phone number you can reach us at during the trip, for emergencies only, is included in the email we just sent out through CHARMS with this same information.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions!
