Hi Everyone,
I hope all of you are doing well (and
have power at home at this point.) We have
so many things happening this week.
1 – Our Spicy Chicks Fundraiser is due
back in this week. Please get this back
to us ASAP.
2 – Our marching band will only rehearse this week on Thursday, 11/5, from 3:45 – 5:30. We have also rescheduled our costume contest for this date as well.
3 – Our concert band and symphonic
band both rehearse together this Friday after school. The concert band rehearses from 3:45 – 4:45
and our symphonic band rehearses from 4:45 – 5:30. Our wind ensemble will rehearse during the
school day on Thursday during their normal class time (11:45 – 1:15).
4 – This Friday our Marching Band
travels to PCHS. We will be
participating for the full football game.
We will leave SPHS at 6:15 PM. We
will begin serving dinner to students at 5:00 PM.
5 – Our Fall Concert is on 11/9 and
will take place in the SPHS Theater. Our
students have been working so hard on this program and we are very excited to
present it to all of you!
We are looking forward to hosting a
SAFE and ENTERTAINING evening - due to COVID-19 guidelines, our concert will
look a little different than concerts have in the past. Students may only have two guests in
attendance so that we can adequately social distance in the auditorium. We highly recommend that those in attendance
wear a mask. Seats will be marked in the
auditorium. Parents may only stay for
the performance of their child - we will clear the auditorium between
performances to allow the air conditioning system to cycle. Students will also not be allowed to watch
the other bands perform (with the exception of siblings.) Students will perform
in their instrument masks and their bell covers. Our students have
been instructed to wear their "Sunday Best" for the evening, which
means no jeans / tennis shoes. The bands will perform as follows:
6:00 PM – Concert Band
6:45 PM – Symphonic Band
7:30 PM – Wind Ensemble
Students should plan to arrive for
warm-up 45 minutes before their performance time.
As always, please let us know if you
have any questions. Thank you!
