As many of you already know, it is our plan to discontinue the use of
CHARMS in the near future. Until fairly
recently, we have utilized CHARMS as a necessity because we have not had
another option that can do the things that CHARMS does. As all of you know, CHARMS is not very “user friendly.”
We have decided to start utilizing a platform called Cut
Time. This platform will do many of the
same functions that CHARMS has done for us in the past, but in a more
user-friendly manner. One big difference
between CHARMS and Cut Time is that CHARMS forced students and parents to share
an account; Cut Time allows students and parents to have their own accounts.
While we have not fully made the switch yet, we are
close. We have not yet migrated our
finances, but it is our goal to do that in the upcoming days. Parents – make sure that if you have a
balance from this year that it is paid in full in the next few days. This will help eliminate confusion as we move
to Cut Time – your current balance will transfer over, but your explanation of your
balance will not. We will keep paper
copies of your CHARMS account to track and explain those past balances, but Cut
Time will only show it as a “previous balance.”
To be clear: as of right now, all of our finances are still in CHARMS
and will continue to live there until we make the switch (hopefully this
weekend.) CHARMS will still show the
option to pay online until we make the switch; once we do fully change over to
Cut Time, CHARMS will now longer allow you to pay online (but Cut Time will.) If you have questions about your current
balance, I would encourage you to reach out to our treasurer at treasurer@spiritofsouthpaulding.org
ASAP.
All of our current students have already created accounts in
Cut Time. We have asked our 8th
grade students to create their own accounts, but some of those students do need
to still create accounts. Parents, I
would now encourage you to create your account.
You can do so by visiting www.cuttime.net
and selecting “Student / Parent Sign Up.”
It only takes a few minutes and you will be able to directly link your
account with your student’s account. Our
emails will soon only be delivered through Cut Time – please make sure you sign
up for an account so you still receive communications from the band.
