Good Afternoon,
We have so much information to share this week! Here is everything you need to know:
1 – Our homecoming parade is TOMORROW, here at SPHS. Students should plan to bring their casual
uniform to school with them. We will
plan to practice in our casual uniforms and move straight from practice to the
parade. Parents – we encourage you to
attend the parade and community pep rally tomorrow evening. The parade starts at 6:30 and the community pep
rally will happen directly after the parade in the South Paulding HS Football
Stadium. Students should be done
sometime around 7:30 PM tomorrow evening.
2 – This Friday we are HOME against New Manchester High
School for Homecoming. Friday is also a
Digital Learning Day in the district. Students
should plan to be at SPHS no later than 6 PM. Due to homecoming, we will plan to perform our
regular halftime show at the end of the football game. We have quite a few slots still available in
the concession stand for Friday. Parents
– remember, we ask that everyone works one throughout the school year. Thank you all for helping us!
3 – Next Monday is our Marching Band Exhibition which will
be hosted at SPHS. Parents – we do still
have a few volunteer spots available through Cut Time. As a reminder, we plan to close our
concession stand early so that all of our parents can see our band perform that
evening. STUDENTS in the band should
plan to stay after school with us on Monday.
Here is our schedule:
Monday – October 7th – Marching Band Exhibition
1:25 PM – School Day Ends (2 Hour Early Release Day).
1:45 PM – Marching Band Rehearsal
3:45 PM – Marching Band Rehearsal ends – students move
equipment / change / get ready for the exhibition.
5:30 PM – Mass Band Rehearsal at the SPHS football practice
field.
6:30 PM – The exhibition begins.
8:40 PM – SPHS Performs
9:15 PM – The exhibition concludes. Students will help clean up / put up
equipment.

Tickets for the exhibition can be purchased at this link:
Tickets will also be available for purchase at the gate for
$10. Children 5 and under are free. PCSD employees are admitted free of charge
with their county badge. 8th
grade band students are also admitted for free with a ticket provided by their
middle school band director.
4 – Saturday, October 12th, we compete at Rockmart
High School. We will send a detailed
schedule home in the next few days, but our band will perform that evening at
7:20 PM.
