Welcome Back!

I hope that you have had a wonderful break!  I know that we all needed one.  I am sorry that this post did not come sooner because the concert was terrific, but I was out of school the Friday before with a sick Colin.  He is better now!

Thank you so much to everyone who made the concert a huge success! Thank you to the parents who brough crock-pots, brough extension cords, served dinner, took up money, helped clean up, helped tear down the ensemble set up, and a special thank you to Nancy for organizing the volunteers and our executive board who also helped behind the scences.  Thank you for being the best group of parents in Paulding County.

I am extremely proud of the students hard work, too!  They were able to prepare the concert even before completing the marching season.  The Chirstmas Parade this Saturday will conclude our marching season and before you know it the students will be performing another concert.  Thank you to all of our students who practice to make our band program stronger.  They give up time that could be spent on Facebook, YouTube, or Gaming to diligently complete homework assignments and practice their instruments.  Many colleges and employers understand the committment made by musicians to their trade and the time management skills developed to successfully juggle all of the committments.  Thank you for making it happen to prepare a beautiful concert!

I hope that you all enjoyed that concert as much as we enjoyed putting it together.  Our next performance is this Saturday at the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Parade in Downtown Atlanta.  The students have music for the parade that they should be practicing.  There is an afterschool rehearsal for the parade on Thursday from 3:45pm-5:00pm.
