Tomorrow (February 4, 2014) after school we have a few things going on. Concert Band rehearses as notated on the schedule from 3:45PM-6:00PM. Wind Ensemble reports at 6:15PM for our 7:00PM Concert. More information about the concert can be found below.
EARLY RELEASE on Wednesday - the students will be released at 1:30PM.
On Thursday, Symphonic Band has rehearsal from 3:45PM-6:00PM. The colorguard performance that was scheduled at Scoggins Middle School has been postponed due to the inclement weather. A make-up date has not been set yet, but we will set up a time for the class to perform their routines for the public.
WIND ENSEMBLE CONCERT INFORMATION
Since the Wind Ensemble was not able to perform their send-off concert last week, we have rescheduled it for Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at 7:00PM. The students need to report by 6:15PM in concert attire. The concert will be about an hour and will feature a reception to follow. Nancy Newton has secured some wonderful donations for our reception. Chickfila in Hiram has donated some chicken nugget trays, Zaxby's in Dallas has donated some chicken tender trays, and Sams in Hiram has donated some cookie trays along with other items to help us celebrate our band students. Please thank our gracious benefactors if you have the opportunity. Nothing beats a personal thank you accompanied by the patronizing of their businesses.
The concert will be streamed live by Jeffrey Morris so that it can be shared with GMEA members across the state. Unfortunately our students were not able to make their trip due to the unsafe road conditions so the next best thing is a live stream! I think that this will be the first presentation of a live streaming concert by a high school band as a GMEA presentation!
