I hope
you are all doing well and staying safe!
We have had a TREMENDOUS first week of band camp at SPHS this week and
we are looking forward to having everyone here with us next week. A few reminders about Monday:
1 – We are
continuing to observe social distancing and groups of under 50 people on
campus. When students arrive in the morning
for drop off / check in, they will pull up to the drop off area in the SPHS Bus
Loop. Wind players should plan to arrive
at 7:45, Colorguard should arrive at 8:00, and Percussionists should arrive at
8:15. Students should remain in their
cars until they have been screened for Covid-19.
2 – Once students
finish the screening process, they will be allowed to exit their vehicle and
meet their section leader who will escort them to their “home base” classroom
and their sectional locations for the week.
3 - Students must
bring lunch with them daily, their SPHS Band Water cooler filled with water, and enough water to last them throughout the day. (We will
have SPHS Band Water Coolers available for our new members on the first day of
camp, so they will need to bring EXTRA water on their first day.) PER the
PCSD, students will not be allowed to refill their water bottles on campus
utilizing water fountains, although they can utilize individual water bottles
for refills (which we have on hand.)
4 – Canopies. We have asked the student leadership to bring
canopies whenever possible to help provide shade to their sections during
morning sectionals outside. If you have
extra canopies, our kids could absolutely use them for the week!
5 - STUDENT PICK
UP: Per the PCSD, students are not allowed to “hang out” on
campus after rehearsal. Students must have rides and depart immediately
after rehearsal. Parents – we will ensure that rehearsal stops on
time during band camp – please make sure that your students are picked up on
time.
