I had hoped to post this before everyone left for break! I completely forgot that the early release schedule makes it hard to see everyone on the last day - so I decided to be fair to everyone and post it on the website.
From viewing the results of the auditions we have had a lot of growth in many sections!
If you would like to continue to improve your results, I recommend you continue practicing scales regularly. Do not try to play the scales as fast as you can until about 2 weeks before your next audition. If you set a goal to play through all 12 scales everyday (it will only take you about 5 minutes total if you have them memorized and you play them in whole notes) then by the time your next audition is here then you will perform your scales better. Not to mention your embouchure will be strengthened because of your daily practice and your tone quality will continue to mature.
I am really looking forward to next semester with all of you guys! Let's continue to create musical excellence together and do our best to set an example that future SPHS Band members can strive to achieve and to be leaders in our community. Together we will continue to make history.
I hope to see many of you tonight at the Lock-In at Stars and Strikes. It starts at 12:00AM and runs until 6:00AM. You are welcome to pay at the door for $40.00 and your friends are welcome too. Parents/Chaperones are only $15.00. The more, the merrier! Let's have a great time and celebrate a wonderful start to the school year! See you later!
